    When to Enroll in North Carolina Health Insurance

     Enrolling in health insurance in North Carolina depends on the type of insurance you are signing up for. Most people can only sign up for ACA health insurance during the Open Enrollment period (the time of year when everyone can freely change their health insurance). Open Enrollment for the federal exchange is November 1, 2022 – December 15, 2022. To enroll outside of Open Enrollment, you must experience a qualifying life event. 

    There is no Open Enrollment period for non-ACA health insurance. There are some exceptions, but most non-ACA plans can be enrolled at any time.
